River Song 03:02
River Song by Leigh A Latham (from the EP Confession) Yeh I'm looking out of my window I see the river flowing to the sea The boats and the ships that sail by Well I wonder if they’ll take me? The river’s deep and the river’s wide It’s fast and dark with an evil tide And the jumpers from bridge don’t swim they sink They're lost forever in cold brown stink Chorus The rivers flowing to the cold North Sea Get myself up to Oslo and then on to Germany River take me away with you Out to the sea to see someplace new So I grabbed my coat and jumped on a boat To see what I could see I got cold, sick and pale There was a mighty gale It’s angry that North Sea When I get to dry land I'll get me some sand Gonna hold it tight in my life lived hand I'll drink some whisky and I drink some beer I'll send you postcard saying "wish you weren't here" Chorus The rivers flowing to the cold North Sea Get myself up to Oslo and then on to Germany River take me away with you Out to the sea to see someplace new. River washes over you So wash over me and make me someone new Now I am not going where no man has been before But the river showed me that life's an open door... Final Chorus River take me away with you Show what I'd have missed if I'd flew River wash over me Cleanse my spirit River set me free River take me away with you Out to the sea to see someplace new River washes over you So wash over me and make me someone new I want to be like you Someone like you I want to be like you

OSOID 05:41
O.S.O.I.D. by Leigh Anthony Latham (from the EP Confession) I'll get you to the railway station in plenty of time I'd hate to miss my train I'll get you to the airport at lunchtime To catch our night flight to Spain If something can go wrong you know that it will Life's like going uphill on a terrifying treadmill Chorus But what if the moon falls out of the sky And what if I only see one magpie Why can't this brain of mine slow down I'm in cold, dirty water I think going to drown I'm going down Just get a grip of it Just let it slip a bit Your face would fill the room But it's my overwhelming sense of impending doom O.S.O.I.D (that's me) I get a knot in my gut when i get a brown envelope through my door You know the one that says HMRC These are all the little things that I try so hard to ignore Because you know they're after me They're after me I don't really know what is the answer And I just read that half of us here are going to get cancer Chorus But what if the moon falls out of the sky And what if I only see one magpie Why can't this brain of mine slow down I'm in cold, dirty water I think going to drown I'm going down Just get a grip of it Just let it slip a bit Your face would fill the room But it's my overwhelming sense of impending doom O.S.O.I.D (that's me) Maybe I should take up drinking or experiment with chemicals Or try and find my inner karma Maybe I should let it out and shout and get hysterical Maybe singing a couple of songs will make me calmer Because something could go wrong and it did you know And everyday life and laughter denies the undertow Chorus But what if the moon falls out of the sky And what if I only see one magpie Why can't this brain of mine slow down I'm in cold, dirty water I think going to drown But what if the moon falls out of the sky And what if I only see one magpie Why can't this brain of mine slow down I'm in cold, dirty water I think going to drown I'm going down Just get a grip of it Just let it slip a bit Your face would fill the room But it's my overwhelming sense of impending doom O.S.O.I.D (that's me) Just get a grip of it Just let it slip a bit Your face would fill the room But it's my overwhelming sense of impending doom O.S.O.I.D (that's me) I've got an overwhelming sense of impending doom O.S.O.I.D I've got an overwhelming sense of impending doom O.S.O.I.D O.S.O.I.D (that's me)

Stupid 05:42
Stupid by Leigh Anthony Latham (from the Confession EP) You made me out of clay Breathed life into me Teacher And do you rue the day When I won't obey Foolish creature Words go in my ear Words I cannot hear It's hard to go to school When Miss thinks that you are a fool Chorus When you're eight years old you do as you're told With a look and a scold you are controlled And you'd better be cute all you'll be down the chute You'll be bottom of the class with your NHS glasses You really are not well suited You shouldn't have been recruited So Miss Don't call me stupid You can't even kick a ball Cag handed scribbly scrawl some kind of retard She laughs at the bully's jokes And at playtime she smokes Leaves you scarred You can only criticise Cannot see the light behind those eyes You don't notice how he tries Filling his head up with your lies. Chorus When you're eight years old you do as you're told With a look and a scold you are controlled And you'd better be cute all you'll be down the chute You'll be bottom of the class with your NHS glasses You really are not well suited You shouldn't have been recruited So Miss Don't call me stupid So you lived your life scholastic You're plastic and sarcastic Teacher And today's lessons topic To write your sad biopic You cheater Over small children you rule You sanctimonious old fool And you were so cruel But it's you that's never left school Chorus When you're eight years old you do as you're told With a look and a scold you are controlled And you'd better be cute all you'll be down the chute You'll be bottom of the class with your NHS glasses You really are not well suited You shouldn't have been recruited Young minds that you polluted Pupils you persecuted Little voices that were muted Out of school I'd have you booted Because Miss You're the one that's stupid

Forty Mile An Hour Couch Potato by Leigh Anthony Latham (from the Confession EP) You came to us when you were five years old At first you didn't do as your told It took you a while to settle in You'd had to sleep on a concrete floor And that had made your skinny arse sore We called Harry the has-been When you slept I think you dreamed of what you'd known Of Irish meadows in that place you used to call home chorus I miss you I still do And I never wanted you at all. How fast could you go? As fast as a tornado Our 40mph couch potato 40mph couch potato 40mph couch potato 40mph couch potato And boy did you like to slouch You stole my place on our couch You'd retired now you were lazy. And when we let you off your leash We nearly lost you on Filey beach It all got at bit too crazy. When you slept I think you dreamed of what you'd known I hope you felt the love that you were shown I miss you I still do And I never wanted you at all. How fast could you go? As fast as a tornado Our 40mph couch potato 40mph couch potato 40mph couch potato 40mph couch potato You were Santa's Little Helper and I was Homer I watched getting frail and older If I'm honest that made me weep I can still remember the look in your eyes And think you were ready to die I held as you fell asleep And now you sleep forever no more races run I loved you boy and that can't be undone I miss you I still do And I never wanted you at all. How fast could you go? As fast as a tornado Our 40mph Our 40mph Our 40mp couch potato You're my couch potato You're my couch potato Our 40mph couch potato

about

A four track EP of some of the songs I have been playing live for over a year now. Songs that explore living next to a huge estuary as a metaphor for yearning, being a born worrier, my experiences at school and my greyhound.
